and for the umpteenth time...

there're a lot of arguments over the cheesy question:
1. cheese is an insulator
argument a: what about NaCl in cheese
argument b: what if it is pure cheese

2. state of subdivision of cheese
argument: during electrolysis, should the cheese be molten or dissolved or acidified, and if not, why not

3. the question paper has no title
argument a: it depends on examiner's preference
argument b: it should be done by common sense

and here's the examination report:
quote:
Most candidates failed to realize it was actually a question for Chemistry paper I. Most candidates answered the question by either writing chinese characters like: door, little; door, able; door, west etc or simply wrote English letters like: F, C, U, K, S, H, T, I (in any order). Moreover, some candiates memorize past papers and answered something totally irrelevant, such as 'cheese decays into alpha particles, and due to interference, the amplitude of cheese is ionized'. Obviously those candidates mixed up Chemistry with Physics.

SUGGESTED SOL. FROM EA:
how to re-coat the oxide layer:
place cheese on petri dish w/ the side to be coated facing up (1M)
heat strongly (700'C) (0.5M)
in the presence of V2O5 as catalyst (0.5M)
allow the set up to react for 1 hr.(0.5M)
remove the melted cheese by poring it into a mould of preferred shape(1M)
allow the cheese to stand and condense while cooling(1M)
the cheese is now coated w/ oxide layer and contains V2O5 which is unsuitable for eating(1M)
Don't throw it in the bin, throw it into the beaker marked "Chemcial waste bottle"(0.5M)
